A little ray of sunshine

We thought it was time for a splash of color on the blog so today we're bringing you some recent bouquets and arrangements we've designed that have been inspired by a color palette with orange or coral. Each color can provide a completely different look, be it bright and bold or soft and feminine, depending what other tones it is paired with.

So next time you're wanting to add a pop of color to the mix, why not give orange a chance and brighten someone's day.

A touch of whimsy

We're very excited to be sharing this whimsical Brock House garden party wedding with you today. When the delightful bride Tara approached us to create her florals, we couldn't believe our luck. Tara's vision for a sophisticated yet soft and romantic outdoor celebration made us squeal a little in delight and we couldn't wait to start designing for her.

With a strong emphasis on lush, natural foliage and a color palette graduating from white and champagne through to peach, pink and pops of purple and burgundy, this wedding came together beautifully. So beautifully, in fact, we've had to split the photos across two posts as we couldn't fit everything in!

Thanks to Lucida Photography for sharing such stunning photos with us and Filosophi Event Planning for making this wonderful dream a reality.

Most importantly, thank you Tara and Ian for the honor of being a part of your wedding celebration!

Celebrating Summer with new designs

The past two months have certainly provided Vancouver with glorious, Summer sunshine so we thought there was no better time than now to show you some of our new seasonal designs. Keeping things light and bright, we've put a fresh new twist on some of our most popular arrangements, such as Sunshine and Garden Scent, and added the 50 Mile design which we hope you'll love.

With an emphases on sustainability and supporting local growers, 50 Mile is made from blooms and stems all sourced within 50 miles of Vancouver. Even if you spot an orchid in your bouquet or arrangement, you can rest assured it was cut from a potted plant grown at a local nursery.

Relying on the freshest product available at market each week, we look forward to making plenty of unique creations with this new addition. You can see many more of our designs at our online store or call us to place an order.

We'll bring the flowers

When Savoury City Catering and Events asked us to help celebrate their 10th Anniversary at the Vancouver Art Gallery recently, how could we possibly say no. Great company, great food and a great excuse to party - count us in!

So we got to work on the florals. Using a color gradient from white and blush through to strong pinks and fuschia, we played with the most delightful blooms imaginable to design arrangements fit for a well-deserved soiree. Tree peonies, garden roses, sweet pea, ranunculus, amaranthus and jasmine vine were just some of the treats we enjoyed.

And that's before we got to the food...

You can see more images from the celebrations on Savoury City's Facebook page.

Sail away with me, honey

If there is one thing a bride wishes for on her wedding day it is sunshine. And this celebration had it in abundance. For a couple who were united by their love of the sea and the sun (he was the captain and she the crew when they locked eyes while on the Caribbean), a glorious day of sunshine in early Spring was certainly meant to be for Nadia and Gavin.

Styled by Spread Love Events, the celebration gave a subtle nod to the couple's love story as classic navy was paired with pops of bright color alongside other thoughtful design elements including a "message in a bottle" guestbook.

Lush spring-time blooms made up the florals with poppies, hyacinth, tulips and ranunculus accompanied by roses, spray roses and lisianthus. Soft foliage including eucalyptus and dusty miller worked alongside hints of myrtle, which was also tied to each guest's menu card adding a subtle yet fragrant touch.

Held at popular downtown venue, Brix, this wedding was captured beautifully by Rebecca Amber Photography and Christie Graham Photography (second shooter).
