Be my Valentine

We've been busy in the studio coming up with new designs and refreshing some old favourites for the most loved-up day of the year, Valentine's Day of course.

While a dozen red roses on Valentines will forever hold its tradition, we think the gift of flowers should be about the person receiving them and their personality, as much as the occasion for the gesture.

So if the love in your life is not a lover of roses, why not send flowers with a little more meaning?

Meet Love Garden. Blue hyacinth for constancy, a red rose for love, ranunculus for radiance and charm, finished off with heather and eucalyptus for protection.

Or perhaps Scarlet. Bold and passionate, Scarlet is striking and a definite show stopper.

If it's unique you are after, Garden Exotique is the one combining lush seasonal blooms with more exotic elements such as orchids and ferns. You'll still find a rose or two in there, but this arrangement likes to be beautiful with a little less tradition.

And then there's Gypsy. Inspired by the outdoors, Gypsy has a bit of a wildflower vibe about her and is not afraid to dance to her own beat.

For the lover of grand gestures, there's the Celsia Signature dozen. More than your dozen roses, this bouquet is accented with seasonal blooms, berries and foliage.

You can place your Valentine's Day orders now at our online store.

Floral 101 workshop

We had a full class, plenty of enthusiasm and blooms galore at our first Floral 101 - Introduction class on Sunday.

From mastering the spiral bouquet technique to creating their own vase arrangement, there was some serious talent in the room!

We started working with greens, what we consider the most important part of any bouquet or arrangement, and then moved on to working with blooms and colour as the afternoon progressed.

Our students had the opportunity to choose their own colour palette to work with, the creations from which you can see below. We think they did a fabulous job, don't you?

Thanks to Les Petites Bonheurs for providing the sweet treats and to When Love Happens photography for capturing the enjoyment.

There is still some space in our February 2 Terrarium and Air Plant Creations class and our Floral 101 - Advanced class on February 23 for any one looking to get more hands on and join our flowerschool. Email events@celsiafloral.com to reserve your place.

B.C beauty on show

When it comes to natural beauty, few wedding settings have taken our breath away quite like this one.

Danielle and Sam were married at a private property in the Woodlands of Deep Cove overlooking Indian Arm, the perfect way to showcase B.C to their family and friends, many of whom had travelled from Australia to be a part of the celebration.

Without a single bloom in sight, this wedding would have been a show stopper with its ocean views and perfectly groomed gardens, combined with the eye-for-style provided by Spread Love Events and of course, this adorably sweet couple.

So it was quite a treat to complement this stunning scene with our florals.

Drawing on the pair's Australia connections we used plenty of eucalyptus and gumnuts in the foliage and paired this with the softest color palette, so as to not take away from the natural surrounds.

From here I think we'll let the images by Sweet Heirloom do the talking. You can catch more of this wedding on Style Me Pretty where it is featured today.

Summer in the Mediterranean

Earlier this week we shared this couple's engagement session on our blog and something tells us you are going to love their wedding photos just as much.

Blush Wedding Photography had the most fortunate task of capturing Tanja and Michael's celebration at Cecil Green Park House which was inspired by a Summer night in the Mediterranean.

Wanting a soft, romantic and feminine colour palette we worked in lilac, peach and blush tones using seasonal blooms including scabiosa, dahlia, anemones, astilbe and lisianthus. The bouquets couldn't have worked more perfectly with the soft hues of the bridesmaid dresses.

And the bride and her gown.... stunning, right?!

A special touch at this wedding was the giving of a small boutonniere to each guest in attendance, a nod to Tanja's Serbian heritage.

Have you thought about incorporating flowers in to your engagement shoot?

When our bride Tanja asked us to create a wildflower-inspired oversize bouquet for her E-session with Blush Wedding Photography we knew it was going to make for some magic pictures.
