We love a bride who dares to be different!
When our great friend Kate, from the Vancouver Art Gallery, told us she wanted a colourful and modern wedding ceremony, followed by a crisp and classic white and green reception, we couldn't wait to get started.
Drawing inspiration from Kate's job as an event specialist at the art gallery, Spread Love Events suggested incorporating plinths and acrylic display boxes in to the ceremony decor, in to which we designed specimen-like florals which acted as altar arrangements.
The plinths proved the perfect complement to the modern decor, including large cutouts of the bride and groom's initials, and a geometric blue and white rug which the couple stood on to say their vows overlooking the spectacular Lake Okanagan, an unbeatable view provided by Sparkling Hill Resort.
A nod to the couple's Australian heritage, the bride's gown was by Australian designers Sass and Bide, and the style of it just happened to be called "The Gallery Dress". Meant to be?
Travelling to the Okanagan to complete wedding florals was an exciting first for Celsia. We are grateful to Kate and Graham for allowing us to be a part of their day.
Thank you to Jarusha Brown for capturing the day so perfectly and sharing her images with us.
